Inherited ISA allowance transfer help

My Dad died last October leaving all his money to my Mum. Probate was granted last week. The plan was (as suggested by her IFA) that Dads ISA allowance was transferred to my Mum. She mentioned to me that she went in to 4 banks on Friday to close Dads accounts and transfer the money to her (into a current account). Does that mean we have lost the ISA inheritance allowance (the APS, the Additional Permitted Subscription? Does the money need to be transferred from Dads ISAs straight into an accepting ISA for Mum?

Even had your father not left the money in the ISAs to your mother, she would still have had the right to an "APS".
Essentially the AFS is an additional allowance?
As far as I can see therefore the APS has not been lost but I am no expert.
Your mother must have had to speak to a member of staff at each institution when she closed the ISA accounts - was the AFS not discussed with her at that time?0 -
Thank you for your response xylophone. Santander have mentioned about the APS and want Mum to transfer the ISA money into their Inheritance ISA. The other banks didn't mention it. However we will look into getting the ISA statements to transfer Dad's ISA allowance to Mum.0
