Where do I stand? Defaults (Satisfied)

Q: How long before my credit rating would be good enough for a "normal" current acount after defaults have been satisfied.
Have searched through the forums, but can't really seem to find the info I'm looking for, so hoping someone knowledgeable could help.
Towards the end of 2005, owing to a period of unemployment, I defaulted on my overdraft (2k) and credit card (3.5k) with HSBC, and another credit card (1.5k).
Once I started working again in Mar 06 I opened a NatWest step account, and managed to save-up some cash. I located where the debts had been passed (had been ignoring all calls and letter from the debt agencies) and have now settled all three defaults. I have no CCJs or Bankruptcies etc., and previously had a good credit history.
How long will it take to get a normal current account again? (Feel so ashamed of the Solo!!)
How long until I could get a decent morgage?
Oh, I'm 28, single, earn 40k paye.
Any answers apreciated. Thanks.

I know some people have been successful in getting companies to remove satisfied defaults.
I am currently in the process of trying to get 2 of my removed.0
