Put remaining flour , rice, lentils etc in freezer for a cpuple of days....0

They were in another cupboard, fortunately but I'll check them later, the rice is the the beetle cupboard but in a lidded glass pot. They seem to have gone for pasta, nothing else, special pasta beetles. I think they have arrived inside a pasta packet, and very recently, I'd have spotted them before now otherwise. Yuck.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

Hi everyone,
Hope you are all having a good Saturday, whatever you are doing.
Another sleep deprived here, that's two on the trot. On the OS front I have stripped the bed but I'm holding fast on washing it till tomorrow, as it's decidedly chilly here. We are supposed to have some sunshine tomorrow but today is grey again.
We have been to collect the D.I.Y stuff and Mr Fix It has retired to the shed to put the band saw back together, then he's coming down for a Granddad nap, because I kept waking him up last night " with all my tossing and turning ". That'll be a first, as he could sleep through an earthquake and a hurricane .
The DW is on and I have to remake the bed this afternoon. I shall also mince up some leftover steak and make some burgers for tea. There are two hot dog rolls left, so I think I'll make the burgers to fit those :T. I don't know if we will want chips / sweet potato fries with them, or just have them on their own, it depends on how hungry we are later.
This evening I need to make a list of jobs that need doing, mainly decorating, around the house. Ohhhhh I love a list, but it must be on paper because looking at one on the computer screen is not the same. How sad must I be :rotfl:.
Right no more procrastinating, the clean bedding awaits my attention.
Take care and hugs to all. Extras for Holly xx
AOD you just reminded me that I have two bags of flour to freeze, so I'm going to do that right now, before I forget again xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Made it home with only one short, but heavy, burst of rain to spoil the views. When it's clear here it really is gorgeous.
I took DM shopping, she hasn't been for three weeks, so she tramped around for over an hour. Her new 'chair' was delivered first thing so we sat and looked at it for a wee while trying to decide if she should be sad to need it or happy that it was there. No decision yet.
On my way home I stopped in Helensburgh for my own shoppping - W aitrose has in everlasting (non fragrance) sweet pea plants. I was so excited and grabbed one. It'll be perfect in the new front plot which is south facing. Just outside in the hedgerow there is one which must have been there for a very long time and flowers every year, that one has scented flowers.
That's my day! No washing, no drying, no dusting, no tidying.... there will be a small glass of something cool and tasty later. Medicinal you understand.:rotfl:0 -
Afternoon all. Have been mia lately but have got my posting mojo back today.
It's the start of the Easter holidays so no babysitting duties for two weeks. There will be other duties and Grampie's taxi will be heavily employed I am sure in taking us all out and about.
Today we picked DD and DGS up from soft play and they came back to ours for lunch. Then we all went grocery shopping and DD took the opportunity to stock up on groceries as she had transport. Then we went back to theirs for a cuppa. As we were leaving DGS 3 said quite spontaneously" I love you Grarmmie" and gave me a big hug. I was so touched. Bless him.
T had some very bad news this week. My best friend has breast cancer. I am so worried about her. She had a bad year last year; both her parents died and she had two knee replacements. Her mother died from cancer. My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer this time of year two years ago and was dead by January. It turned out that the breast cancer was secondary.
Oh well it is what it is and I am going to do everything possible to support my friend. So if anyone has any advice on how to be there for her as a friend I would appreciate it. My sister shut us out when she was dying and didn't have a funeral either. She was just cremated and her ashes scattered. She hated funerals.
Thinking of Holly and anyone else worried or poorly.
Sorry about the rant.

Just being able to "listen"and be there without offering "solutions" would be a great help. I hope things are not as bad as she may fear.
Hugs0 -
I have a couple of dds coming for lunch tomorrow so e mailed to remind them that with the clocks going forward it would be a short morning.
I told them I had planned beef and mushroom pie only to be told they had had it last night when out and were making their own tonight so plans were hastily changed to beef stroganoff with plenty of mash and veg.
Hugs to all0 -
gintot I agree with Elona - be a support, allow her to say the things she won't/can't say to her family and aim to help her smile xx2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Evening all,
All packed up and ready to clean the van in the morning. I think The Blonde One is worried I've forgotten I have Grandchildren as she has been sending pictures by sets of 10 and reminders that it's childcare day on Monday and that I promised to have them next Saturday.
Eldest is doing well off the booze. AA is really supporting him.
Youngest has his girlfriend stay over one night. That's what he admitted to anyway. He's been working late and going in early so it wasn't worth her staying over...so he said.
I hope Prodigal is ok. I have been worried about him.
Adonis is still heartbroken.
Onwards and forwards will resume in the morning.
