O/S Daily Saturday 24th March 2018
This is an !!!8220;over the garden fence!!!8221; type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It!!!8217;s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we!!!8217;re going to do today or what we!!!8217;ve achieved already. Everyone!!!8217;s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn!!!8217;t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don!!!8217;t post large pictures, or clip art !!!8211; links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don!!!8217;t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
DH and myself enjoying first peaceful cuppas, I'm showered and dressed as I'm working this morning.
Now light, damp underfoot and overcast here, so looking a bit dull and dreary at the moment. Most days this week have started like this and then the sky has cleared and we've had lovely days - washing has been pegged out 4 days this week and got reasonably dry. Will check forecast in a mo for today - I have a load to peg out if possible.
Dinner last night was breaded chicken portions, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg for the menfolk. I had mushroom omelette, salad and a small portion of LO mash heated up, didn't want to throw it away. Tonight I'm not sure but I'll organise something.
Yesterday I was again reasonably productive and got done what I wanted, ironing all got done, shopping etc. Engineer came back to put new parts in fridge freezer and test the sensor - which showed that it's not working properly and once the sensor goes the appliance is written off - so it's working enough to use temporarily but I'm now waiting contact from them to arrange replacement and delivery.
This afternoon once I'm home from work had some lunch, I'll be going to collect my car.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all and thank you for starting the thread nmlc.
I am distinctly bleary-eyed. I woke up needing the loo at 1.30 and couldn't get back to sleep so got up and have been pottering since then.
I'm really tired, it is wet and I'll probably go back to bed later. If that bl**dy crow ever shuts up, that is. I don't think the crow woke me but it has obviously found something to crow about outside and now all its friends have joined in.
Hope everyone has a good dayI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning everyone
Yesterday I spent the evening reading, what a treat. Made me feel nice and relaxed for a change.
I’ll be back later, meanwhile I wish everyone a happy Saturday.0 -
Morning folks and thanks nmlc. It's miserable here and it doesn't know whether to rain or not.
Yet another trip to Leeds in store but not such an early start today. Need to be on the 10.30 bus to town for the 11.30 train. (Big gap in between as need to call in the EE shop to sort out a problem with my phone contract) The hospital appointment is not till early afternoon but as it's a hospital we haven't visited before we want to allow time for getting on the wrong bus or getting lost! We can always kill time in the hospital cafe if needs be!
DD, bf and 2 of the DGDs are also going to Leeds - clothes shopping for the 13 yo. That'll be fun - not! DD has got a voucher for a free meal and bottle of Prosseco from Zizzi for her birthday so we are all meeting up there later for a meal before heading back home. (In our case tired and weary) I am still feeling aggrieved that Zizzi didn't send me a free meal and wine voucher when it was my birthday as I am on their e-mailing list!
Time to hit the shower but maybe another coffee first. ((HUGS)) for all in need/want of them and take care all whatever you are up to xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning. It's fine here at the mo, but I don't know which way the weather will go, I would like to get some washing out if possible.
Well, we finished DD's banister yesterday, thank goodness. We're all banistered out now.
Today we'll catch up a bit, I hope. I started making myself a fleece dressing gown months ago, and it got put to one side when I wasn't well with persistent UTI's. I think the next sewing job I do will be to finish that. It's full length so will be nice and warm. Must admit I'd half forgotten about it, then I found it in my fabric storage.
That's it from me, hugs and thoughts to all that need them
Take care folks0 -
Morning everyone and thanks for the start nmlc.
Didn’t have such a good nights sleep and feel a tad weary today, I seem to be having stomach cramps despite my last period being over 3 years ago, has anyone else experienced this during the menopause at all? It’s very uncomfortable have to say
Not sure what else today will bring, was fairly productive yesterday so there’s not much to do thank goodness as feel like a wet rag at the moment, will obviously get over to see Lu at some point.
I was going to make a quiche lorraine for tea as ages since I did one.
Have a good day folks x0 -
Morning All
It's a beautiful sunny morning here, there was quite a hard frost so must have been cold last night.
I was ready for Friday, the week seemed to go on forever. 4 days this week then 2 weeks off, really looking forward to it. I felt so tired last night I just had a bowl of soup for tea and went to bed quite early but did read for a while.
Washing went on the racks overnight and the hoover was thrown about but that was about it for housework. During the holidays I plan to do a room a day properly, I like a spring clean!
Have a happy Saturday, I'm going for a posh afternoon tea in the city later, not good for the diet but should be good fun. Take care. XX0 -
Good morning all

Morning all
Its a bit overcast and gloomy here atm but im hoping that it will brighten up later on, OH has got a load of his work clothes to wash so they can go in this morning.
I need OH to go in the loft today I can hear something scuttling away up there from very early in the mornings, I think its birds as thy tend to nest in the eves up there but I think one may have broken in ! OH has not heard them as he would genuinely sleep through anything !
DD and her boyf are on the way to Malta, they should be landing any moment, as much as I will miss dd this week it will be nice to have a peaceful house for a change !
OH and I will have a quick clean through this morning and then nip out to the shop for a few bits for this week, tonight I fancy a prawn and chorizo spaghetti thing with lots of garlic and chilli and maybe a glass of ice cold wine for the cook :j
I was wiped out yesterday after going out for the afternoon, so I must make sure I have my nap this afternoon (that makes me feel very old)
Anyway hugs to those in need have good days all xxx0 -
