Can I claim?

I didn't think I could claim PPI, because I ticked the form to accept PPI.
I was told over the phone that I I needed PPI in order to be accepted to have a credit card, as I was a sin ble mum and only worked part time.
I wasn't explained to what it meant or what it covered.
Can I claim?

You can COMPLAIN about the sale yes, but you should focus on facts - if you were working part time and under a certain number of hours, PPI wouldn't cover you so the policy wouldn't pay out so was miss-sold. The fact you ticked the box counts against you (what was said on the phone is irrelevant unless you have proof of it) but they will probably pay out due to ineligibility of cover. Mention that and not he said she said stuff

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
