Re car insurance claim

It costs the third party insurer more if a claim handler/credit hire company handles a claim rather than them doing it themselves.
Contact the third party insurer and ask to speak to their innocent third party claims department and ask them to deal with your claim.
If you don't want to use enterprise or the third party insurer then insist on your own insurer handling this for you. You will have to pay and reclaim your excess and expect your NCD to be temporarily impacted (unless protected) till your insurer is reimbursed
I never thought of going direct to her insurance company, just phoned mine, who transferred me direct to enterprise, after taking all the details.
Ido know, my company said they could NOT locate her insurers!!
Convenient, as I have it,so probably they did not want me to do ad you say?
I did commit myself, verbally to Enterprise, until I came on here, so I do not know if that is binding?
I then rang my insurers back, who said It would be more convenient for me, via enterprise.
My NCD is protected.
But the excess could be a problem.:beer:0 -
Yes I agree with Quentin to. In January 2017 someone reversed in to my wife's car while she was queuing for a parking space in tesco. We informed our insurance (Kwifit ) who immediately wanted to push us down the route to their claims handlers rather than to the underwriter of our insurance (Covea).
We then ring the other persons insurance company (esure) and they bent over backwards to take care of us, hired us a car for the duration of repaires etc.
I would defo get in touch with Allianz and see if they will deal with you direct.
Cheers
James
I just want the easiest route and no cost to me.
My Corsa was no match to third parties new discovery.
New rear balance required at least:(0 -
Hello all,
I am in the same situation. Diamond are pushing me to use their credit hire company Auxilis. They say I will have to pay excess otherwise for having my car driven into when parked. And I also have a legal cover.
I called the 3rd party insurer first -MCE, thinking they will be happy to deal with it but they aren’t and say they will deal with my insurer instead?
When dealing with Auxilis they asked me for the phone number of the driver who crashed into my car so they can call him to find out what happened ( I was on holiday then and another car was involved). I didn’t have it, only the address and reg number, but told them he already called his insurance and they will be able to give that to them. They say they can’t because they are not my insurer!
How pointless is that? Why can’t I deal with my insurer or the 3rd party insurer. No wonder the insurance premiums keep going up.0
