Do Credit Cards ALWAYS withdraw promotional offers for late payments?

.....to cut a long sory short...I paid my Tesco CC on its due date and expect to be charged a late payment fee (it states to allow 4 days for processing). Im worried as I have a life of balance tranfer offer with them that they will now withdraw. I know its my fault...but do they always follow through with this or will they take into account its the first late payment in 7 years. Has anyone ever pleaded and kept their offer? Thanks

Plead with them if necessary. Then if they take it away, tell them that you will be shifting cards to someone else.

Generally any breach of the T&C's will result in automatic withdrawal of any promotional offers.

A polite phone-call may re-instate some or all of the promotional offer. (I got caught out with MBNA/Virgin a couple of years back - after calling them, they reinstated the 0%, but the late fee remained and that was charged interest until I cleared the card.)
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries

Well there is no excuse for it. You could have easily set a direct debit for the min payment. As you say it is your fault so why should Tesco's not take you off the promotional rate. You only have yourself to blame.

You might try ringing them and asking them very politely and nicely if they will let you off as you're a long standing good customer and all that. Even better if you can have a bit of a heart rending excuse for why it was late. If they say no, well, you're no worse off. They are tightening up on this sort of thing - you might have to insist on talking to someone higher up, or write in. But above all, be polite and pleasant.

Gosh MABLE, it must be lovely to be perfect, but spare a thought for all us fallible mortals...
