Credit report - old address

I am hoping that someone could give correct information with regards to credit reporting.
On my credit file I have an old credit card that I have not used since 2012 and I had asked them to close many time, but still appears on the report. Also the address on there is an old address where I have not lived for the last 14 years. The credit card company and all the CR companies do have my current address, so why are they reporting my old address on the report. I think this may open to fraud as the correspondence or new cards may be going into the old address. I have spoken Credit Card Company and they assured me that their data is updated with my current address, however, all big credit reference companies keeping the old address and I cannot understand why.
Thanks

Hi Gary-Dexter
Thanks for your response.
The account is showing open and active. Despite telling them for the last two years to remove it no one actually seem to listen, and they take ages to reply. When they did reply Noddle said because I was at that address when the account was opened and it is linked to my addresses they cannot remove. That is what they told me via email today.
It cannot be seen as active as the creditor has closed the account (that is what credit card company told me).
I am going to send a final letter to CC company and to all the CR agencies and if no success I will send a letter to ICO.0
