First port of call would be to scan for malware. use this free tool and report back.

I'd try running the Windows Update Troubleshooter, in case the issue is related to an MS update you installed recently.

Will try running Troubleshooter first then Malware if that doesn't solve it. I will report back and thanks for the help. It's 5 o'clock somewhere!0

I've tried both of the methods suggested but I'm still getting the message. Any other ideas or shall I just live with it?It's 5 o'clock somewhere!0

It could be a problem with a program that is set to run when Windows starts up. If you go to the run box, type msconfig and hit enter, then click the "Startup" tab on the window that appears, you will see a list of programs that run when Windows starts.
You'll probably have to google the file in the "Command" section to figure out what each entry does -- it's not always obvious.
Anyway, you can enable/disable the various programs from being run on startup. Maybe its one of these causing the problem?
If that doesn't help, you should be able to find out what's causing the error by looking for entries in the Event Log. Have a look for an item called "Event Log" or "Event Viewer". The event causing the error message should be listed, along with additional information (e.g. an error code) that might help fix the issue.0
