Hi,
We're looking for a projector and screen for our church, but I don't much know about what describes a projector's capabilities/specifications, so I can research what suits our needs. Can someone please let know of any URLs that can help, and in particular any gotchas from experience? (I am Googling, but am getting strange results.)
OK, so far this is all very general, so here's a specific scenario. We are looking for an electric screen about 8-10 feet across, and then project from the back of the church (about 40 feet?), but the Circuit's projector can't reduce the image to fit on the existing screen from that distance. I was originally looking at a tripod screen in one corner, but others have suggested an electric screen to be lowered from the ceiling.
Questions:
-Can projectors have different lenses to reduce the image size?
-What's the technical term for 'correcting an image, when the screen's at an angle and the image is wonky and needs straightening up'?
-We have no curtains, so what's an ideal lumens(??) to start with for daylight viewing?
-Is there any minimum distance for rear projection, if we go this way instead?
-Anything to watch out for?
-Any moneysaving websites to get them from?
Many thanks for any advice, HJ.

You would be best advised to go look through the following forums:

They are quite expensive things to run with bulbs costing between £150 upwards for 500 hours or so usage.
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -
Thanks for the info! HJ :beer:0
