Afternoon all
I think I will call this day a right off :rotfl:.
I am a member of the walking wounded ( joints playing up, so a strapped up wrist and ankle, and medication taken ) and also the sleep deprived. Last night Mr Fix It did the early shift 8pm to 3am and I did the late one 4am to 10. We have no idea why we couldn't sleep.
This morning I have done the washing and hung it on the whirly, first time this year :T. The sun is intermittent but there is a breeze, so I remain hopeful that it will dry a little bit. The temperature seems milder and we have no heating on at all, although according to the weather man it's not going to last.
I have cleaned the kitchen down, emptied and refilled the DW and tidied up the dinning room too.
Mr Fix It has been up the shed, working on the wardrobe, it would have been quicker to make a full sized one . Unfortunately he has broken the band saw blade so the machine has been stripped down and a new blade ordered for tomorrow pick up. My handy man ( Mr Fix It ) was also called in to look at the upstairs toilet flush, I have been telling him it was becoming difficult, as sometimes it would do as it was told first time, then other times it would think about it and shrug it's shoulders. So a new part has been sourced also for collection tomorrow.
We have been in contact with the window man and a date of April 9th has been agreed for fitting, weather dependent. We are not in a hurry and I would rather we didn't have them done in the snow or heavy persistent rain.
I'm now contemplating getting the hoover out and hobbling around with it, at least I will have something to prop me up :rotfl:
Nelski have you lost a day ? Dad came on Wednesday evening ( a bit moody if the truth be told ) but went home semi happy with a liver, bacon, mash etc meal, a spare hot dog in a bun and 3 fresh eggs :rotfl:.
Judi I'm glad you have found something entertaining to occupy yourself with on your away time. Adonis and Grumps cooking. What more could a girl want
.
JackieO I could also do with your services ( painting ) if you're available after my windows are in
Hope everyone is having a reasonable day. Take care and the hug bucket is full for anyone who is in need.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Afternoon.
Bank business attended to at the crack of opening hour. I was too early so found myself in W aterstone book shop for a coffee, somehow a book ended up in my bag!.
A really nice woman came from welfare rights to do the AA claim form. She’s taken away all the info and will send off the form. It’ll take about six - eight weeks to be decided.
DM has been worrying for ages about not being able to find her grandmother’s gold watch. The other week she went through every drawer and cupboard in her house without success and convinced herself it was gone. Today she asked me to move her wardrobe as it may be behind it - cue armfuls of tops, trousers and jumpers on her bed and wardrobe shifted. Nothing there. Then everything put back and an even more miserable DM. Ten minutes later she finds it in one of her jewellery cases. :rotfl:
The afternoon is dry. I am being peaceful. Hope everyone else is too.0 -
Gers Fingers crossed that your DM gets her A. Allowance. By the way I hope you paid for that book :rotfl:.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0

Afternoon all. I have downed tools, for now at least! A half hearted spruce up upstairs and down has been done. Lunch made and eaten (hm soup and pate on crackers) and Shepherds Pie sat on the worktop awaiting the starving hordes. Carrots julienned (?sp) and gravy made.
NELSKI - Whirling Dervish!? In my dreams! More like a Toddling Tortoise these days!
REDRUBY I can't believe you have to wait 2 weeks for a blood test and then another wait for the result! I thought it was an ordeal trying to get an appointment at our surgery but at least, if needed. we don't have to wait for a blood test. We can have that done the same day at the Phlebotomy clinic at the Health Centre, across town, or the hospital 3 miles away. As you don't seem to be picking up for your sick leave I agree with everybody else about the 7 day week that's planned for you. Crazy.
GERS hope your mum's AA claim goes smoothly. Why does everything take so long these days? The Consultant Neurologist told Mr TA that he had to inform the DVLA about his diagnosis of peripheral neuropathy and months later still awaiting their decision. The last letter said they were writing to his Consultant for his views and, meanwhile, he is still waiting. He still feels confident driving but they might have different ideas.
Enjoy the rest of your day folks if you can and take care xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -

You don't want me to answer that do you?:rotfl:
Booked to come home tomorrow but staying till Sunday instead. No particular reason why..might have stayed longer if I hadn't got Diva on Monday.
Had a great day today. I got up and had a shower and went back to bed after I'd sorted the hounds. Havent moved further than the toilet all day. Grump has been much the same. Apart from breakfast his 'arris hasn't moved from the settee over the other side of the caravan. Don't think we've spoke more than a few words all day...Nothing wrong but enjoying a bit of personal space.

Yes, I vaguely remember paying for it, though I’d prefer to forget.
Since I wrote earlier we’ve been out buying a fancy commode.. the other gadget I bought proved too much of a problem for DM. She’s now happy that a) she can manage better at night and b) it looks like a normal armchair and not the ‘hospital’ one. Blooming fortune too. I’m now happy (couldn’t write relieved) that she’s safer at night.
TA - things do take ages with any government department. At least it’ll be submitted and it’s out of our hands.
Now I need a stiff G&T please...0 -
Pie night tonight. Grump has got this thing for Fray Bentos pies....so he who chooses the meal cooks the food.

Judi you answered my question very aptly with " Can't beat a bit of personal space." I concur completely
. We used to enjoy a FB pie until recently, but now they seem to have lost the "meat." The last one was all gravy and pastry with a bit of gristle
.
Mr Fix It wanted something sweet tonight despite having a banana split for pudding. So I found a box of chocs from somewhere , but I'm not at liberty to divulge my hiding place :silenced: . He's now sorted through the box and has his favourites lined up on the coffee table .... but he's just fallen asleep. Hope he's counted them.
