Broken Boiler - Eco Grant?

Hi all,
My sister in law combi boiler has broken down and two different boiler engineers have stated that its beyond economical repair.
She is on child tax credit for her two young children and I recently saw about the boiler scrapage scheme where if you have an inefficient boiler it would be replaced for free. She has rang a few companies who have stated her boiler needs to be working to be assed that's its inefficient but because its broken she is not eligible.
We have been looking online to find if she is eligible for anything else and found a eco grant from a company based in Birmingham who have said if you are on certain benefits the government has a grant scheme which would reduce the cost of the boiler installation.
However, I cant find anything on MSE about this grant, only information about the free boiler scheme which she is not eligible for.
has anyone come across this boiler grant scheme before? I just want to ensure the company she is giving her details to are a genuine company with no nasty surprises.

That's one that she looked at. She used another company when she googled Boiler grants.
My only issue was that on MSE website there is no mention of boiler grants just free boiler scheme.0 -
I'd suggest contacting her gas supplier - Many have grants/schemes available, although it may take a bit of digging to find the details. Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
Thanks, she contacted First Utility but they do not provide any grants or schemes.0
