Naughty pony, would a treat ball keep her mind off destruction at all? I used one when my old gelding was on box rest for 3 months.

    Hi Lainey
Its just naughtiness. She likes to grab hold of the metal bolt, and she is a chewer too . Trouble is the surrounding woodwork is getting mangled as well.
I will persevere as she is a nice mare in all other ways, a bit of a looney when you first set off but an armchair ride after the first 200 metres or so.
    Driving is another matter entirely!

    Morning all,

Its a nice spring day here again, I have collected a load of towels from various rooms and got them on a wash, I will hang them on the line for a blow and get OH to get them in later, I have filled the dw and will put that on after my toast and that will be all I do today.

I am getting worried that I am not feeling any better at all I have just slept 8 hours solid and could go back to sleep now, I have also just seen that I am on a seven day when I go back to work the week after next and honestly don't think I will be able to do it :( Oh well will just have to see how I am at the end of next week and go from there.

Lainey ahhh it makes sense now I was thinking Funeral Director and thought that you had not mentioned that before ! :rotfl:

TA hope all goes well today xx

    Hugs to Holly xx

    Have good days all xx

    Morning

TA thats a mad busy day hope your not doing too much.

I have heard from Holly she has been having some service problems and also feeling very low :( She has had the section lifted which is good news and she has agreed to stay as a voluntary patient. Unfortunately they have said she must have someone with her when she leaves the ward and guess what there is never anyone available so she is understandably low at the moment. I am worried about her as she also said she thinks she will make do without her medication and see how she gets on .....I know she really wants to get home but this could well set her back to square one:(

Lots to do today around work including sorting a kitchen where a bomb has been dropped somehow. Food wise I will have a freezer rummage soon but I could probably do with having a big plate of veggies to use some up....its days like today i just wish someone was cooking for me for a change.

Anyway have a good day all and take care

Redruby maybe mentjon that to your dr as that is ridiculous when you've just been signed off. Also the dr could ask that you are seen by your employers Occupational Health team before you return, which should also help.

Ditto the above! Seriously stupid use of a rota.

Nelski - thanks for the Holly update. I hope her situation improves more.

Video meeting finished, I’ve emptied the DW and WM and am just about to head off down the road. Conditions look good for a drive.
  • Afternoon ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Was off to Aldi at Sparrows F*** this morning, home just after 10. Shopping put away then took some shopping I had done over to my neighbour, bad mistake it was over an hour before I got out. Thats my excuse anyway. Got away with just over £50 for the shop, so have come in just a wee bit under budget this month.....woo hoo!! change will go in the money box.

I bought an escallonia plant from Aldi to put in the gap by the fence, I will pot it up a couple of times and then plant it in the autumn, its evergreen so at least there will be a bit of colour through the 'dark' days.

I need to do a serious declutter, there is too much 'stuff' in the house. I want to get rid of the dresser in the sitting room, concentrate the display stuff on the 'dresser' in the hall I have a set of saucepans and an over large colander I used to use, its really big, better suited to a family. I can see another call to the Emmaus shop coming on.

Apart from rousing just after 2am I slept through to 7.30 this morning, unheard of for me....mind you I was shattered when I went to bed.

It was sunny first thing, but it has clouded over. DB has put a bit more stain on the shed, another half an hour in the morning and the front will have had it first coat.

Sausage, mash and beans for supper. Strawberries in jelly for dessert with custard.

    Afternoon all,
Just got home and had a late lunch, well a snack really, as we have been out all morning.
First we went into town for the bank to draw out some cash, then onward to the Ran*e. DGD had asked if I had plenty of craft stuff ready for over the Easter hols, I have quite a bit, but I also bought half a dozen polystyrene eggs for the DGC to decorate/ paint. We also stopped in their coffee shop before popping in the new B & M next door for a look see.
On the way home we called in the farm to pay for our 'van storage and met the farmers wife and she was very nice and sociable, unlike the farmer who seemed uncomfortable conversing. It seems that she will be in charge of the storage payments, so that's all good.
I'm up to date with the ironing whoo hoo ! :T. But I noticed that the washing basket is filling up again, so I'll tackle that tomorrow. This afternoon we have a couple of films to watch and later for tea we will be having steak, with a jacket potato and mushrooms. Mr Fix It will have the lions share of the steak as I'm not a lover of it.
TA I hope today's timetable goes as planned. I'll swap you my steak for your liver any day of the week.
RR I echo Gers and Floss, go back to see your GP if you don't feel up to going back to work. Returning too soon may put you back to square one. Seeing the Occ Health is a very good idea too.

AOD apparently burnt toast is supposed to be bad for you but my uncle would not eat it any other way and he lived well into his 70's without any adverse affect.
Nelski thanks for the update on Holly. I think we all wish we could go and help her in person. Sending her extra love and hugs. By the way I would enjoy a plate of veggies, as long as I could cover them in gravy :D.
Deleted_User I also have too much stuff, but Mr Fix It needs it "just in case ". I am having to get rid of stuff covertly and then deny all knowledge of it's existence :rotfl:.
Hope everyone is having a good Thursday and hugs to all.

I slept better last night so feel refreshed but I must offer a warning about toast. If there is stale bread, I'll usually use it up for toast and leave what's fresh for OH and DS. Today I forgot to watch it and have had carbonised toast, not quite what I planned. I wonder if there are any health risks or benefits to burnt toast but too late anyway, I've eaten it to avoid waste.
Probably beneficial, based on the fact that some dog biscuit selections include charcoal biscuits, which aid the digestion. :D

Oh dear, I hope she doesn't decide to stop her meds without the doctor's say-so. Re having someone there - would her brother be able to help at all?
I remember being told I couldn't go home unless someone came to collect me. All very fine and dandy, but what are you supposed to do when there simply isn't anyone? Magic someone out of thin air??

That's crazy - you've been off sick, and they want you to do a 7-day stretch the second you're back? Can you ask for it to be changed to give you chance to settle back in? Try not to worry (yeah, I know how hard that is).
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Hi Chums been a frantically busy day today youngest DD needed some paint so I delved into my glory hole (aka cupboard ubder the stairs) found a big tin of white emulsion with only a small amount missing ,plus the roller and tray and paint brushes and took them to DDs and got stuck in up a ladder doing the walls in her downstairs bathroom.DGS Henry had two free periods from school this afternoon so I stuck the roller in his hand as he is just under 6ft and sent him up the ladder to do the ceiling while I made his lunch. They whizzed down to pick up some bathroom bits she wanted from The Range. back to her house and son-in-law came in and said oh that look really nice :) DD will be chuffed :):)

Eldest DD has just found out she has lost her job in reorganisation of the finance dept of the local LEA she is fine as she gets 16 years statutory redundancy plus three months wages. Her OH is Ok as he earns pretty good wages so she can relax for the summer and its up to her if she returns to work or not .She is an accountant so it shouldn't be too hard to get another job and their children are grown up .Their mortgage finishes next year as well so money won't worry her ,but I think she is sad at leaving her friends at the moment .But as I told her life is for living and enjoying and a bit of stress free life will do her the world of good.

Hopefully HollyH will be back with us soon Well done to Nels for keeping us all up to date

Just going to put my feet up now as up and down a ladder today has cream crackered me, getting too old for all the rushing around I think :):):)
History group tomorrow which I always enjoy

    Have a good evening chums

  • Hi folks,

Have been lurking for a few days but I am back like the proverbial bad penny :rotfl:

Nmlc, thanks for starting the thread :T you had a very busy day :T

TA, SR, nannywindow, JackieO you have had busy days - tired me out just reading about them:rotfl:

aod, hope you got to see your friend without too much difficulty :)

dumpling, hope something can be sorted for Becky - you can do without the stress!

LaineyT, my DH was also upset that he bothered with the cricket :o

SS, about time you rested the knee :)

RR, I agree with Floss, Gers, nannywindow & LW - I will say it again “whatever happened to common sense?”

Nelski, thanks so much for keeping us up to date with Holly. Good news about the section being lifted but bad news that she still cannot go out on her own recognisance. nannywindow has hit the nail on the head, I think we all wish we could do something practical. LameWolf is right, I hope Holly doesn’t discontinue her meds. If only they would talk to her & treat her like an adult instead of keeping her in the dark & not even letting her off the ward on her own - surely there must be a psychologist or someone who can explain about the meds and just chat to her.
Holly, lots of hugs & positive thoughts to you :)

Today, I posted a parcel to my DSis & a packet to my DB. Back on the bus to cs with only one bag of stuff & then another bus ride to my old cs (in the opposite direction :( ) to drop off the authentication certificates for the scale model cars I donated last summer. Meanwhile DH was doing Tip runs & then washing his Harley. Only one more load for the Tip which will be done tomorrow.
Just vacuumed half the living room carpet & then used my new toy :rotfl: it is surprising how dirty a carpet gets when you only vacuum over a period of 19 years  I am now a V*x convert :T:j:D The only reason for doing this is that the new sofas are being delivered tomorrow :T However, I love :embarasse my new toy - it is a great spur to redouble efforts to sort out the boxes of stuff so I have clear floor space.

Takeaway for dinner & enough for tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a good restful sleep tonight.
