  • AndyGrayUK,

What model of Sony Ericsson do you have? Did you request the settings at the start of the registration process?

So surely it is too late. Or am I going crazy??

^ hairy_lairy, you are looking at the offer for the £100 daily giveaway - you need to look further down, at the piece titled "Terms and conditions - 10 Pounds When You Register and Use Mobile Banking"

I'm happy to sign up as if you go direct through HSBC's site they have a page about it - if they advertise it on their site surely they can't have any issues if anything bad happens?

Anyway I'm with Orange PAYG - I went through the steps and am now waiting for my activation code through the post - so far it has only cost me 38 pence to install everything and get to this point, so so far so good - will edit this post when I have successfully accessed the service.

I may use it just to check my balance if I'm not by a branch, cash point or computer (which is rare!)

*EDIT 2nd Nov* OK got my pin code today (that was fast!) and put it into the application very easily, logged in and checked my balance, then exited. WAP/Data cost 10 pence, therefore total cost to get everything done on Orange was 48 pence - not bad to claim a tenner.

Imagine then that until the end of this free period for me to check balance or get mini statement it will be 10 pence a time data costs. In the new year add 10p to the usual costs! Still not bad! I like it!
  • hairy_lairy, you;re going crazy ;)

The terms and condiditons you refer to are not the £10 give away terms and conditions, they are actually the terms and conditions for a Daily £100 give away we ran back in Sept.

If you scroll further down on the terms and conditions page you will see the £10 give away terms and conditions (under the heading '10 pounds when you register and use mobile banking')

    Thanks,
    MONILINK

It won't work for me

I've got the text message but the link just times out, saying the server is busy or something like that.

OH did it too, and the same.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
  • Did you request the settings at the start of the registration process (after you had entered your mobile phone number, operator etc?)

What make and model of phone do you have?

  • As far as I understand it, firstdirect are offering free text message banking as of tomorrow, with their '1' account, the new title for their standard current account.

As an fd customer, can I still get this tenner?
  • fd text message banking and MONILINK mobile phone banking are two different products.

MONILINK allows you to securely log into your account and perform balance enquiries, mini statements and Top-Ups on demand.

So in answer to your question - yes, text message banking customers can register and use MONILINK and get a tenner!

    Regards,
    MONILINK
