Colour matching magnolia

We live in a rental property and are moving out at the end of the month. We have taken some shelves down we put up and it’s left some holes in the walls. We have filled them but they need a lick of paint. The wall is magnolia but there are so many magnolia/cream paints o don’t know how to colour match. I have tried the dulux app but it’s saying dark brown so not that reliable! Can’t anyone help?

Perhaps ask the landlord what they used, and if there is any left?

Sorry to sidetrack, but sort of relevant - how do people get around this similar situation when selling a house?

My understanding is that you are supposed to make repairs of things like holes in the wall that are left after removing pictures, etc. Filling the hole is one thing, but what about the paint?

Go to a Leyland Paint Centre (or similar) and they have those little cards with several thousand colours on. Take as many as you need and then match them up in situ. Go back and they'll mix the paint, better quality and far cheaper than Dulux too.

Tbh it was just easier to magnolia-fy the whole lot, even a single coat works well over an existing magnolia. It wasn't too expensive and didn't take that long.

I've never gone around filling holes and repainting when selling a house and I've never moved into a house where they've filled the holes.

Surely if you are moving house, take any pictures yes, but why would you try and take the picture hooks out of the wall??
When we moved in - picture hooks available to put our pictures on.

Why would you assume the people moving in have the same size and number of pictures that you have and want to hang them in the exact same place that you hung your pictures? That's just odd IMO.

If it's just a small hole from hanging a picture, usually, it's not obvious if the shade is very slightly out.

Normally, the hook is placed where you want the picture. Not the picture where you have a hook. That's the tail wagging the dog.
