Binoculars Upgrade!

I have a pair of Binoculars (10x50) which are great and i've had them for over 20 years. I love looking at Country views and City views at night, i wanted to get a new pair which would enable me to see further however, i don't want to sacrifice the field of vision.
I'm no expert but i understand that i would need 20x50 or similar to look further keeping the 50 at 50 or above, is this true.

20x50, the 20 is the magnification and the 50 is the size of the front lens and is in mm.

Darker the environment, then a bigger lens collects more light. More the magnification, narrower you field of view is, plus it is more susceptible to shakes and movement,

Thought about getting a Spotting Scope with varying magnification, and possibly a phone camera adapter?

You'll need a tripod or similar to steady anything much more than 10x. Many RSPB places have shops where you can try different bins & scopes.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

There was a similar post on here a few years ago.
12X50 would be the maximum for hand held.
20X50 to gather same light as 10X50 would need to be more like 20X200+.
Quality of the lens is the key component .
My current 12X50 are not as good as my old 10X50 in regards field of view and light gathering .
