                    Hi there
I am posting on behalf of my dad hoping someone can offer some advice please.
My dad was claiming income based ESA (support group) due to a head injury, however after a recent assessment he received a letter Friday stating he has been moved from the support group to WRA
Having read on here all the help other people have received I suggested applying for a mandatory reconsideration? Although I'll be honest I'm not sure of it is ESA that his applies to or PIP
However fast forward to Sunday night my dad had an accident falling from quite a low hight after becoming dizzy (a problem relating to his head injury) he has managed to shatter his knee cap. He is currently in hospital awaiting surgery to repair his knee cap and he has been advised his leg will be in a cast for 8-12 weeks
So my questions are;
Am I correct in suggesting he requests a mandatory reconsideration?
And if so would he tell them about the details of his recent accident and how that is obviously going to prevent him working for the foreseeable future?
Thank you in advance for any advice anyone can offer, and I am happy to provide any more info needed just wanted to keep it brief

            The new incapacity isn't relevant to the recon but it's advisable to tell them anyway as it will affect his ability to get to any appointments which are set up for him.0

            Thank you for the quick response TELLIT01 .. I hadn't even thought about him getting to their appointments so thanks for that.0

            It might also be possible to use the dizziness as further evidence of the side effects of his injury.
 Would his doctor agree that dizziness was result of his head injury and write a letter to that effect?
 So, something along the lines of 'as a result of patient's head injury he is likely to experience random periods of dizziness which could result in injury to himself. This is evidenced in his recent accident when........................resulting in a shattered knee cap. Patient currently waiting for operation to repair knee cap which is predicted to take place ....... and ongoing recovery from the operation for ........'
 This may or may not be relevant unless the dizziness was directly as a result of his head injury and cannot be treated with medication.
 Hope you get my drift!
 If this is the case then it would be good evidence for the mandatory reconsideration0

            Thank you pmlindyloo that was along the lines of what I was wondering when I was asking if it is relevant to his mandatory recon but I didn't know how to word it as you have.
 He is currently in hospital where he will stay until they operate in the next day or so and will leave once he has learnt to stabilise himself on crutches etc so I will arrange for him to speak with his own doctor once he is home, or would the evidence need to be submitted sooner?
 I'm going to research everything properly tonight when I have the time (timescales by which I need to request recon etc) however it's great to have some help 0 0
