Cochlear implant (Scotland)

Hi i am having my 2nd lot of tests for cochlear.implant on4/4/2018
Just wondering if anyone in Scotland can tell me how many times did you need to go for tests? And how long between starting tests to getting your cochlear implant done.
Also once you were switched on do you hear a lot better hearing?? Or. Does it take a while before you hear anything.Reason for asking is because when i had first lot of tests it was discovered i had lost all my hearing in my right ear.so i now have to have implant done in left ear and i am worried about how much i will hear after implant as i don't have much hearing left in left ear.so i am worried xxx
