Collection only item.

I've sold a fair bit on Ebay, but it's a long time since I did a collection only item. I'm assuming that I can only do an auction and not BIN because I want payment in cash. Is that right?

eBay is no longer a good place for a collection only item where you hope for cash. Have a read of this thread for a starter

That thread now needs updating as it needs the new rules about eBay and their draconian views about possible off eBay sales, without understanding the new rules about contact between a buyer and seller your account could be at risk.

As soon as I'm back from holiday I'll update that thread.

A couple of things to note though, firstly your preferred payment method will show as PayPal, it is the way the system is set up (the only exception is the motor vehicles category). Secondly do not any any circumstances try and exchange contact details or an address, even a local area with any buyer until the sale has completely gone through.

I've tried Gumtree and no one was interested, so thought I would give Ebay a try before I send it to a charity shop. The stuff is in great condition, but a slightly niche craft hobby.

Perhaps I will sell the items that I can post and give the rest away. Shame really because it's a great buy as a package.

Try Shpock , I'm doing very well on there at the moment, I rarely ever had luck on Gumtree. Also search Facebook for sites relating to the hobby, and see if they allow direct sales.

    Thanks for the help.

I've held off on the Ebay listing and have tried Gumtree one more time and if that doesn't work I will try shpock.

Just thought I would update the thread.

The stuff still didn't sell on Gumtree so I tried Shpock and had an offer within a couple of hours and an agreed sale an hour after that for an amount I was happy with. The buyer has just collected.

So a huge thank you to soolin for the advice.
