Hi - We are taking a day trip on Wed to Dublin - surprise for the children - teenagers..
1.Can anyone recommend what is do able in a day trip
2.Best way to get from Dublin airport to City centre - 5 or us so may not fit in a taxi
3. Will there be spaces in the short term car park if we have not booked?
Thanks

The best and cheapest way from the airport to city centre is the local Dublin buses which wait outside the terminal.
The fare is 1-90 euros, and you need the exact fare as you have to put your money into a machine on the bus and the driver will not give any change.
So if you stick in 10 euros this will cover the 5 of you.
Once in the city centre you can spend all day there.
Trinity college,St.Stephen`s green shopping centre and park,Grafton St,O`Connel St,the river Liffey,Temple bar are all next to each other within an easy stroll.
On top of that there is the art gallery (free)and the museum also free.
Parking at Luton, just go into the LONG stay.0 -
Park your car at Luton Parkway railway station, and get the shuttle bus (free) to the airport (10mins or less) shuttle bus runs every 10/15 mins I think. It will probable be cheaper than parking at the long term.0

Have a look at THIS great thread regarding transport from the airport to Dublin city centre. You can even buy the tickets online from Ticketmaster before you go!This space has been intentionally left blank0

It might be cheaper (£4.20 against £10 for the long stay pre-booked), but for a day trip could be a lot more inconvenient. If you are late back, after 23:50 the station shuttle buses drop in frequency to once an hour (unless the drivers get bored and they make unofficial runs), but the long stay car park buses keep running frequently. It is £30 a day to park in the short stay.

How much is it for the LONG STAY - not prebooked?? Thanks0
