Bay Window no guttering

Hello
We are buying a late 1930s semi with two bay windows at the front (ground and first floor) and the homebuyer report flagged up that there is no guttering around them. Apparently this is a common thing?
The top of the first floor bay is a flat roof and below it there is a dark stain on the rendering (from the rain water). We called the surveyor and he said its easily corrected but if left it could prove a problem. I am just wondering how the current vendors got away with it all this time as surely it would cause damp to the internal walls?!
We are planning to visit the property again and get a quote to put guttering around it but I doubt this would be anything we could negotiate on price with?
As a matter of interest does anybody know how much its likely to cost before we get quotes?

Fitting gutters round a bay? Not hard or expensive. Change from fifty quid, and a morning up a ladder, if there's somewhere for them to discharge to.
'course, if it hasn't been a problem for the last 80 years...0 -
It all depends what type of guttering you want, but in honesty it's not an expensive job to put guttering round a bay window.
Negotiate on the price if you wish but a couple of hundred pounds seems a rather futile thing to try for a reduction on when you are spending many thousands on the property purchase.
If you are competent at diy its very possible to even install it yourself at minimal cost.in S 38 T 2 F 50

I live in a road of 1930's semis - all have bay windows with flat roofs, none have ever had gutters round the bays.
No problems that I am aware of and I've lived here for over 50 years.0 -
Lots of bay windows in 1960's houses in my road - some have guttering, some don't. Ours doesn't and flagged in the HB Report but not flagged as needing to be addressed / remedied. I figured if it ain't broke don't fix it.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Our 1970s bay doesnt have guttering, neither do any of the others down the street. There's quite an overhang of the roof, rain just drips off it.Make £2025 in 2025
