Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Its a bright morning here, but we have had quite a heavy frost.
The new piece of fence is up, the fencer is coming back to sort out a small patio at the back for us so we can sit out and eat if we get any good weather this summer. He has some slabs, he just needs to get a railway sleeper that and his labour to pay for. He tends to do jobs in the village a bit cheaper, he was the chap who put our gate up.
No plans for the day, need to go over and see my neighbour at some point today, she has dumped the cleaners too, they have not been for a month, as I am feeling quite a bit better, I have told her that if she does the dusting I will go over and put the dyson over her carpets and steam clean the wet room. Will see how it works out till we get someone else.
Aldi in the morning so I need to sort out the shopping list.
We watched the end of Shetland last night too, I got a bit lost about the relationship between the two youngsters, they seemed to end up half brother and sister...........the end was sad, that poor chap would have been in line for a massive compensation claim, I doubt if he could have handled it though, he did have a few problems.
Frittata for supper, I have not got the micro back yet, will have to cook it in the top oven. Tomato and celery salad and the rest of yesterdays new spuds fried in butter. I have some frozen strawberries left so will make a strawberry jelly for dessert.0 -
. Also need to make the most of having DOH at home as, after 3 years of working for himself, he has decided to go back into the workplace and applied for a FD’s position yesterday. Will be a big change for all of us but think he needs to do it for a number of reasons.
It’s 8 years today since my darling eldest brother died, he was such a smashing chap and I miss him every day :heart2:
Have a good day folks x
Lainey you have me intrigued now, what is a FD ?
Hugs to you re your brother xx
Morning all,
Its another lovely spring day here, I think Nels and Nanny are right and I am still doing too much, I do find it hard to sit and do nothing, but I was so tired by yesterday early evening that I could hardly keep my eyes open and was very teary again, lesson learned though today I shall be doing very little.
Im going to have some boiled eggs for breakfast and then take little one to the park, she needs taking and will mither me if I don't besides I enjoy going and like the fresh air. Then come home and do nothing for the rest of the daythere is nothing that cant wait a while, Ive got an easy shove in the oven dinner so that's easy.
There seems to have been a leak its either under the kitchen sink or near the DW, we did find a small drip under the sink which has now been fixed but a lot of water has got under the new flooring, you can hear it when you walk on it, there seems a lot of water for a small leak so Im not convinced it was the sink, but I have a dehumidifier in the kitchen and all the windows open trying to dry it out, if not we will have to claim on the house insurance and the floor etc will have to come upFingers crossed it will dry itself up !
Right going to boil some eggs, have good days all xx0 -
Morning all
Thanks for the thread nmlc, hugs to Holly and everyone else in need.
FD is financial director I think.
I woke up yesterday with a painful foot, possibly rheumatism it's worse t his more ing so I too painkillers first thing, I need to be mobile to get on and off the boat.
Plans today include making chicken curry, chicken wrapped in bacon and some flapjack and filling g the boat with water, well the tank anyway, I don't want the boat waterlogged.
I have a quiet day today, no childcare duties.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -

xx
Hester has it spot on RR it stands for Finance Director. He was treated appallingly by our last company after they were take over by a US company and was finally made redundant 3 years ago. They brought him to the verge of a nervous breakdown but he is finally at the stage when he feels can go back into a workplace environment.0 -
Hello everybody, I hope you are all having a good Wednesday.
We had an early morning call from DD reminding us that it was DGS class assembly today. Good job she rang because I had it down as Thursday ! It was about an Egyptian Cinderella ( bit bizarre ) but DGS spoke his part (s) very well. We got caught for another raffle and DGS stung me for money for 3 biscuits and a cuppa, I swear that boy has hollow legs and arms :rotfl:.
We checked out another storage area for our 'van, it's a no go. I am not forking out nearly £400 pa for what was essentially a glorified car park. For that money I want somewhere more secure and not open to almost everyone . We shall stay at the farm for now and hope that the farmer keeps the van storage on in the long run. We shall go over tomorrow and pay our dues.
This afternoon Mr Fix It decided to wash the car as the sun is out, somehow I got roped in to clean the wheels. I must be such a push over :rotfl:.
Dad's coming over for tea tonight and we are having hot dogs and oven chips, with the rest of the strawberries and cream for pudding. I will also sort him out a portion of the venison liver, bacon and mash to take home.
I will now go and do some ironing:(. But first more coffee :coffee::coffee:
Hugs to anyone who wants or needs one. Take care all.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Another day gone to pot! Went out to tackle the hacky back patio but was soon back in again! Whoever said it was going to be warmer got it wrong! There was a biting wind blowing and I was frozen stiff before the job even started. I thought blow this for a game of soldiers and put the brush back!
I set a pan of Bolognese off to simmer away on the hob for the DGD's tea and then decided I would replenish my pastry stocks in the freezer as I used my last batch last week. That was done in no time using the processor instead of using my fingertips for rubbing the fat in.
The post brought Mr TA's stent operation date for the 9th April and it couldn't have been a worse date. We have booked a few days up in Darlington for "Margot's" ballet performance from the 12th so just hope he is fit to go. Plus the kitchen is scheduled to start on the 16th and we intended using the few days prior to Darlington emptying the cupboards etc. Now this will need to be done before the op! We'll be in turmoil for weeks!
We haven't given any thought yet to setting the caravan and awning up for the coming season. It hasn't been the weather for a start. We have never left it this late before and if snow is now being forecast for Easter might leave it till after new kitchen! The bill for the coming season's site fees etc and last year's electric came last week, Eeeek!! How did we use so much leccy in a caravan?!!
Enjoy your afternoon folks if you can xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
What a miserable, wet, grey and cold day it's been. Such a contrast with yesterday.
My one student didn't turn up again, she's not been to any classes for two weeks so perhaps she won't be coming back. I filled my time by making a chocolate cake. Then I went to help an elderly neighbour with an IT problem and got rewarded with an early aftern G&T.:j Had a lovely chat by their stove too which prompted me to light mine when I got back.
I've got to go out shortly to a meeting, I feel so disinclined to venture out again. Would love to just sit tight!0 -
Evening, I got chilled to the bone, standing on a hill waiting for a bus. I'm still cold.
JackieO thank you for the information, I won't be driving though. I haven't driven for years, have totally lost my confidence. And as it is a work trip, I'll have to stick to the rules and use public transport, which work will pay for. We can only drive over 40 miles from our workplace if it is somewhere we can't get to by public transport.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0
