The Property Trust plc

A friend of mine who now lives in Portugal gave me some share certificates in a company called The Property Trust plc. He bought the shares in 1993, and they total about 300. He never bothered to change his old London address, and has therefore had no correspondence for 14 years. Are these shares worth anything? What should he do with the certificates? I have no interest, other than finding out what he needs to do.

It seems like a similar company exists in London, but they have only an answer machine.

The Group started life as General Ceylon (Holdings) Limited on 17 July 1959. The name was finally changed to The Property Trust plc on 18 January 1985. Between November 1992 and September 2001 the company's shares were traded on the London Stock Exchange.
The Group is now headed by PT Holdings Ltd, a company registered in Bermuda and together with its subsidiaries carries on the business of property investment, trading and management.

hi i need to know if a share certificate i hold is still valid it was issued on the 27 11 1987 it was a penny share issue for 10000

It looks like it hasn't been listed on a stock exchange for ten years, so you will have to contact the company directly for more information.
