Newly Single parent benefit advice

Hi,

Sorry I'm new to this forum, but was just looking for a bit of advice. Me and my partner have decided to go our separate ways, he is currently searching for somewhere else to live. When he goes there will be just me and my daughter (8 years old) living here. I work 34 hours a week and have done the benefits calculators which say I will be entitled to some help but I'm confused as to what I need to apply for...would it be tax credits or universal credits? Its all very confusing! I'm currently not in receipt of anything apart from child benefit.

Also I understand when I make an application it can take up to 6 weeks, but if I cant apply until he moves out I am going to really struggle!!

Any help would be appreciated

Thank you!
