Hi
Quick question regarding getting a refund from admiral insurance after cancelling the policy.
I intend to change cars from a hatchback to an estate. I found that aviva is cheaper for the car I intend to buy. Also changing cars on your policy attracts a stupidly high premium it seems as they feel they can price gouge you.
So I would like to cancel the admiral policy and get refund. The credit card I paid with is on zero balance and I want to cancel that card soon ish.
I'm just curious, if I were to cancel the card will admiral refund to a different card or will they have to send me a cheque for the amount?

Whatever they decide their policy is.
Which could include not refunding. Though they probably will but charge £50ish cancellation fee. Is the new policy still cheaper taking that into account?0 -
miles cheaper, although i'm looking for someone who has personal experience with this rather than someone stating the bleeding obvious "whatever they decide they want to do".
I would have phoned customer service but their original point of call are indian call centre who would probably be clueless dealing with anything out of their script.0 -

I see this pointless comments too often in these boards. In fact their reply was worse than pointless because Admiral do refund the remaining months cover left for cancelling the cover.0 -
In general they will only refund to the card that was used. I had a watch refund in January and it was to the card used or gift vouchers with the excuse used being money laundering rules.0

Yes. This. I had Admiral insurance a while back and that's what they told me
Not sure how current this is but bottom of page 25 seems to corroborate.
