Selling due to upgrade. Laptop is in full working condition, NO OPERATING SYSTEM installed or supplied. Laptop does have some scratches to the lid, but they are just slight wear & tear marks. There is 1 small screen scratch but is not noticeable and does not affect your viewing pleasure....

£125

Personally I would never buy a secondhand laptop. There is no way to know how it has been treated and you do not get a warranty.

Also do note that there is NO OPERATING SYSTEM - you will need to purchase a copy of XP or Vista and depending on which version you chose can be upwards of £55, when loaded you may also need to download drivers from Dell for the wireless/sound etc to get it running correctly. If you opt for Vista 512mb is not really enough, some extra memory will help. Xp will run reasonably with 512mb.

Battery is normally the first thing to go on a laptop.

I would assume the battery is completely dead unless he states otherwise so it will need to be plugged in to work.

You can download all the relevant drivers from Dell so that shouldnt be an issue. Although you have to suply your own OS.

It will be okay for browsing the internet and word processing but it is most definitely no state of the art machine so dont expect to play the latest games on it.

got a copy of xp pro +sp2 for it here

this is merely to use internet on the move or when not used daughter will be using it in house for surfing
  • In that case why not? It's quite good value. You wouldn't get anything else for that price anyway.
I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right
  • Oh but re: above comment on battery, why not email the seller beforehand and also google new batteries for it to see how much that would cost if by "on the move" you mean not plugged in.

By the looks of te spec, I've got the same one - not the fastest but if it's just internet browsing and word processing etc.. then for £125 you can't go wrong.

I'm a bit gutted really because I was thinking of selling mine over xmas - doesn't seem much point now for £125!

I would defo ask about the battery though - mine has lasted OK but this one couldv'e been thrashed!

It would also depend on what operating system you want to put on it. If it's vista it takes alot of space, you may run out of hard drive fairly quickly after that.
