Massive Thankyou!!!

Hi All,

I just wanted to thank everyone on here who is doing a superb job of educating people about PCNs and what a scam they are. Also thank you all for helping to get them successfully cancelled.

In December I received a PCN from UKPC for parking in a disabled space in a leisure park car park. I would never deliberately park in a disabled bay & I was horrified when I found out I had. The reason I did was because the paint had rubbed off & the only signage was in the far left bay of 10 bays and was hidden by the car parked in that bay!

Thankfully I didn't have to go as far as compiling a POPLA appeal. I followed the advice in the forum & borrowed the wording EXACTLY as laid out in the Newbies thread. After some delay & a request for the driver's details (which I ignored) they contacted me to say they were dropping the charge!

I have no doubt that the success was down to the wording of the initial response. They must know by now that these replies are coming from this website & that they would lose if they took it further.

So thank you once again. I have now successfully had 5 PCNs cancelled & I have referred many, many other people to this forum.

Keep up the excellent work!

Well done, FingersLily - this will hearten c-m and others who spend so long helping posters.

re: 'they contacted me to say they were dropping the charge!'

Do ensure that everyone you help knows they must receive printable proof of this, not just verbal assurance.

Great to hear, and yes, you are right:

They certainly recognise the appeal, and many BPA members give up easily.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
