hi all
Productive morning for me for a change. Fed mares, walked dog, went to school for a meeting, called in library, and put in 2 lots of neighbours recycling bins. Phew!
Snow nearly all gone now and a lovely sunny, but cold, day. Bruise mare still being funny about the remaining snow, and Scooby just ignores it.. Very strange as a complete role reversal.
No sign of Bold Sir Robin in the barn after the last dose of the white stuff. Hope its ok. Haven't found a pile of feathers yet so expect Riley cat hasn't had him/her.. he prefers rabbits anyway.
Hugs and spoons to those in need
Mehefin
Update:
Brave Sir Robin has been spotted..all's well0 -
Afternoon all.
Well the tow bar is on, thank goodness, but it set us back £400 . We ended up at the Har*ester but I've had better meals (it was edible shall we say), I also got the cold in one ankle so it's strapped up and I'm hobbling about.
The weather today is a bit warmer but overcast and we have been to see the new farmer where we keep our van. We were "attacked" by his three dogs (well licked to death really) a chocolate lab, a cute German Shepherd puppy with floppy ears and a very large Hein*e variety dog. As you know I'm not enamoured with canines, especially large ones, so the farmer had to put two away in the house, the puppy however wouldn't leave my side and sat quietly at my feet. ( I'm ok with that ).
Mr Fix It needed petrol so we called in Morries and then I topped up with milk etc. I also took out a mortgage er ......... bought a small piece of lamb ready for next Sunday's lunch, which I've put in the freezer. Then it was on to Hal*ords for a number plate for the van and I treated us to a new frying pan in TK Maximus, woe betide "he" who burns this one :rotfl:.
This afternoon I have done two loads of washing and as our jeans from this morning's ambush were covered in a few muddy paw prints, they went in too. The DW has been filled and it will go on after tea which will be pulled pork sausage roll ( new one on me, but I'll try it ) and some wedgie potatoes, followed by strawberries and cream.
Gosh I've just realised that it's gone 3pm already, this day's gone on a pace. It's nearly bedtime :rotfl:.
RedRuby You are supposed to be resting ! Please put your feet up and take things easy.
Speky I had to google ketogenic chicken tenders as I'd never heard of that. Keep us posted, sounds interesting.
JackieO please tell your GtGD to hurry up. Sorry that you have to attend another funeral.
TA I hope your appointments go well today.
NMLC hope all your electrical problems are sorted now.
Nelski hope you are having a good shopping trip with your Mum.
Hope everyone is having a good Tuesday, hugs to all.

Afternoon all!
Another splendid day here, bright skies, cloudless, almost windless and bitterly cold.
Teaching was OK, the student isn't the most blessed with grey cells but is keen to try.
Cake-making was iffy! The new mixer wasn't a good as I expectedit to be. There's a couple of design faults and the cake wasn't as mixed as it should be. When baked and split open the coffee cake has white patches in it. Not impressed.
It's only cake!0 -
Well I nipped up to MrT's click 'n'collect and ordered my new PKP and best of all it was cheaper than advertised online, it cost £45.68 instead of £49.00 plus my points, so pleased with that AND it was the ice that had stopped my wipers working, and they are fine now its got a wee bit warmer thank goodness.
That's one less bill to think about.Just set out my outfit for tomorrow mornings funeral and hopefully thats last one for awhile at least I hope so.
Youngest DD had a long chat with her MD and he has promoted her with more money and shorter hours so she is a happy bunny as well.
Perhaps some cheery news is on its way.Everytime the phone goes I think its the baby on her way, but she will get here in her own good time Her due date is Thursday, but the consultant says it could be anytime really.
DGS Jack has got his letter confirming his student grant for this comng September and also a confirmation of his room in Halls.
Tonight I am off to the pub quiz so fingers crossed we may get another bottle or two for the stash:)
Cheers chums

Can you tell, I have doggy withdrawal symptoms. Can't wait for Wednesday of next week when the two Cavapoos descend on us. Mr LW has been told not to leave his socks stuffed into his shoes as he normally does, as the youngster, Indi, likes to pinch things like socks. My handbag will have to go on my desk instead of on the floor under the coffee table, too, or my hankie and my gloves will be fair game.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Evening all
Apologies for the late hour ...Ill take my detention tomorrow
So yesterdays book club went really well and the food was nearly all snaffled including the gluten free veg food which seemed to go down really well with the non veggies tooI made a load of these which are really scrummy Sweet Potato and Black Bean burgers in GF rolls:)
We cracked through 10 bottles of Prosecco:eek::eek: but being the hostess means i didn't get too much which I was grateful for this morning when I woke up :rotfl:
So mum visit went OK no major traumas I have had my date for going under the knife (April 20th) so had to break that news. She was fine and weirdly kept asking me how the pain was which was the first time she's ever bothered asking. Anyway one of my bessy's has offered to help with the shopping which is just awesome as she lives a long way from mother. Thinking the 6 weeks should be covered ok now by the brother, my friend and 2 neighbours that will defo help her they are alway offering. Can always do online of course but I think she really needs that one outing a week. Was really touched by all the offers of help for me from my book club group who all live very close to me so will be great to have some company and a helping hand if needed. :A (those prosecco bottles are pesky rascals to open :rotfl::rotfl:)
had a lush fish finger butty and chips for lunch they make their own fishfingers and I think they really need to remame them as fish bricks.... so big and so much melt in the mouth cod. Will probably have a boiled egg and soldiers soon ...my favourite hole filler
No news from Holly today but I will update as soon as I hear. LW The GS was gorgeous and still a bit lollopy. Big eyes, ears and huge feet ! Mr Fix It wanted to bring him home .
Nelski don't forget to do your 100 lines " I must not be late " :rotfl:. 10 bottles and you didn't have much, hic !. Good news about your op appointment and the offers of help for your Mum . That should help your recovery to know that she is being cared for too. Sorry confused about the " new park " comment ?? xx
