Comparison Sites vs Direct?

Hi,
I'm trying to switch energy suppliers and I'm torn between going through a comparison site for their various rewards and benefits, or going direct and getting TopCashback. I was looking at British Gas for the £65 cashback.
In the past we've never really used a huge amount of energy and paid about £40 a month for a working couple in a 3 bed house. British Gas are quoting about £80 a month, and a comparison site are quoting a fraction of that.
I don't know which to believe. We have a newish, very efficient boiler and I know it'll depend entirely on how much we use, but sitting in front of the computer gives me a headache scrolling through the amount of different options. It's the same tariff regardless of which I go through, their fixed until 2019 one with £65 cashback from Topcashback. Am I right in thinking that we'll pay the same regardless of which channel we go through or am I missing something?
Alternatively, am I missing a trick completely by not going via another route? I have looked at Cheap Energy club, but most of the cheaper ones seem to be unknown and I'd rather not sink my money in to them. The biggest cheap ones on there are EDF and OVO. Would I be missing something by switching to one of these via Topcashback rather than using Cheap Energy club or will I get the same deal either way?
Any help you could give me to unscramble my brain would be appreciated.

What figures are you putting into the comparisons ? You should only ever use annual kWh. That will give you an annual cost which divided by 12 will give your monthly DD. The prices will be the same for a given tariff whichever channel you use. Sometimes a particular referrer has managed a special deal or the supplier is offering a renewal only special to existing customers.0
