Armtrac

I have spent hours reading all these threads, thank you to all who have posted. Do you think I have a chance in my appeal, as I put my money in but no ticket came out? I put a note on the dashboard, but they refuse to accept this. I am also concerned that the appeal company I must use is IAS and not POPLA, as it appears that this is not a good company. I feel very strongly about it, and am prepared to go all the way, but I do have reservations. Thanks in advance for any replies.

no chance at either ARMTRAC or at the IAS of winning any appeal

your only choice now apart from paying (which we DO NOT recommend) is to IGNORE for 6 years unless you get a formal LBC or an MCOL in the meantime

But, if they took it to court, which is highly unlikely, I would bet on you.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind most of these companies may well be put out of business by Christmas.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

  • Thank you both very much. I have done my appeal ready to send, and have said that I will go to court if necessary - is this advisable, do you think, to say this?
  • Thanks Coupon mad. Do you mean I should send my appeal to Armtrac again, not IAS? Or just ignore it completely?
  • And is it worth writing to the landowner?

If you've appealed to Armtac and been declined (of course you have) ignore them, but let them send some daft debt demands, then (later) you could respond to a LBCCC showing how distressed you are by the harassment.

acronyms are explained in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread near the top of this forum

please read through it ( the first 5 posts of it)

nothing is going to get this cancelled apart from a landowner cancellation, or a judge in court , OR if it times out after 6 years

its a sc@m you are caught up in, one that MP,s are so annoyed about they are going to change it with a new law , hopefully this year
