Wireless USB Adaptor!

Yes, agreed it is 'more advisable' to stick to one manufacturer, but providing manufacturers have adhered to the IEEE 802.11 specification (read more here if needed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.11 ) then there really shouldn't be a problem. The issue arises where manufacturers mostly stick to the specification but add their own additions to their products to make it more 'saleable' and 'compatible' to their own hardware. With the US Robotics wireless adaptors (2 of them), I also bought:
Linksys Wireless-g Adsl2+ Modem Router - Gateway 4-port Switch+ Access Point Uk
ebuyer code 94178
for £47.52 (ex VAT)
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/94178 (also discontinued)
...That was a WAG354G, which I am still using now, with two (new) laptops (wireless built in) and a desktop via a UTP (standard network) cable.
Just have a look on ebuyer for a cheap one and dive in!!!
