Buying (a Van) off Gumtree Scam

I must admit , I nearly fell for this one about the Sprinter van I E Mailed the woman but once I started asking questions the E Mails stopped.
I have reported this as a scam so will see if it stops .
Anyone out there , ignore the advert and definitely do not follow it to the payment stage as that's what they are after.:mad:

Just got the same details but to a Mrs Renata Harrison. Message from Sheffield, van in Exeter, sold through ebay with add on Gumtree. It's a scam for sure.

Be aware that any mail for payment not through your ebay account for any payments is a scam. Do not accept anything to your personal email accounts, be warned. I rang ebay, they called me back, I checked all transfer numbers and they had no record of the transaction even with 3 emails to do with terms of service, VPP transaction numbers etc.

Hi Blobik,

Can you tell me how to report this please as they have advertised it again, this time using the name Laura Bethune who is actually a gp in Exeter. Her husband is a surgeon so not sure why he would have a mercedes van that was precious to him!
She was also selling a range rover evoque for around £10000 less than the market value.

Thank you for your interest. I'm selling my 2013 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2.1 CDI 313 LWB Reg No: KW63 BYN with a 2,143 cc diesel engine, Manual, 2 Owners, 125,000 Miles, Full Service History. MOT Until 12/2019. All documents are in the original folders. 2 key fobs. The van is in perfect condition, it has no accidents, no damage, scratches or dents. HPI clear and is fully paid . I ask only £2,498 because I just finished an ugly divorce and I am very glad that I took it. For my husband this was the most precious thing that he had. He cheat me, although we have 2 kids together, anyway, I don't want to bore you with my life's story...
The only reason that I ask £2,498, is because I want to get rid of all those bad memories, so, I can start live my life again.
The van is in Exeter because I live here. As you can see from the pictures, the van is in perfect condition. From the beginning you have to know that for the payment I request only secure pay. I prefer the payment to be done using eBay services (I will receive the payment only after you receive and inspect the van and only if you agree to buy it) . I will pay for shipping and handling (my ex buyer did not received his loan but he already paid for shipping costs ) so there won't be any additional shipping costs for you.
If you are interested in buying it, please provide me your full name, address and phone in order to register you as my buyer. I will wait your answer (if you are interested to buy) very soon.

I know that a lot of people will disagree, but IMO, anyone who pays for and expects to receive that vehicle deserves to lose their money.

£2490 for a van that has an estimated private sale price of around £8k and even buying sites such as "we buy any car" say that they will pay £7000+ for it.
Advertised at around a third of its realistic selling price means that it's a scam or a stolen or cloned vehicle.
I know that there are sometimes bargains to be found online but this much of a discount and some people still think it may be genuine?
