Thanks for the replies. In regard to cleaning up, moving items etc. thank you for the suggestions but there is nothing on there that is additional to when it was bought.....no documents, pictures, music, nothing. These are all stored externally. I have tried all the cleanups to free space and have removed whatever built in apps I didn't need, but still no space and I am worried about removing things by mistake, that I may need.

Ugh, yes, it is unfortunately :(

I did see that thread but I am not techie enough to follow it unfortunately. I am in discussions with a local shop at the moment about what options I have, but they are very limted apparently due to the cost out-weighing the price of the machine.

Have you seen this method for updating? https://www.windowscentral.com/how-install-any-major-update-windows-10-low-storage-devices
Requires two 16gb memory sticks and USB ports, but gets around the limited space on the device. (a local repair shop should have all the parts to do it easily if it still seems too much). Future Windows 10 updates should (allegedly) only download the files that have changed, and work with less space.

    Oh brilliant, thank you!

I will read through this properly later on but this looks very useful. I know a little bit of "techie stuff" but am not sure I will be confident enough to follow this through :o but I can always take this with me to the shop and see what they say.
