Surely though, if it was proved/shown that she was eligible for sheltered housing, she'd need to pay her rent from her own funds, which, as she's currently struggling with loan repayments, would mean selling her current home. Not giving it away to her daughter!!
Also what about the poor old husband in all this...How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -

Yes, like I said eligibility to live in sheltered housing and eligibility for housing benefit are different things.0 -

Assumptions were being made about sheltered / retirement housing. The lady appears to be rather too young for that.0

Residential care in the short-medium term is nowhere near as unlikely as for somebody of that age in good health.0 -
I live in a housing association property for over 55's not sheltered.
There was a waiting list and I was housed within 2 years.
I just had to provide prove of income ...there is a couple here who own a house that a family member lives in...the housing association have no problem with this.0 -
