Day out with a 5 month old

Hi,
I have some time off this week with my wife and 5 month old daughter. I was looking for a day out in the midlands to do something. I've had a look at the sea life centre and some petting farms but I cant help the feeling that its not worth spending money on these activities yet. I know its a bit cold now but is my daughter going to benefit from going to a petting farm/sea life type experience compared to going for a walk around a nice local park and seeing the ducks?
Ideally i'd like to do something my whole family could enjoy so i'd appreciate any feedback from other parents about days out with a LO.

THe park will be fine - leave the petting farms until she can pet.
At 5 months baby goes where you goNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Is your wife at home with the baby all day?
Why not treat your wife to the morning off somewhere - get her hair done/ similar and then go for a walk to feed the ducks.
You get to spend some quality time with your child and your wife gets some time to herself.0 -

Sounds like a good idea.0 -
Actually I do remember taking my kids to aquariums at that age and they were interested in looking at the fish. But i;d target somewhere that *you* would find interesting. Babies at that age are fascinated by everything.0

Go for a nice day somewhere you'd both enjoy. A baby at that age is just happy being with you and is fairly easy to entertain. Soon you'll be weaning, then they'll be crawling and wanting to get out of the pushchair, etc. So you'll have plenty of time for farms and soft play in your future. Go for afternoon tea somewhere, find a nice town to visit, or you spend a day with the baby while your partner books a massage and lunch with a friend. Enjoy.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0

5 month olds just like looking at things. Particularly watching people.
So just do what you two want to do. Cafe. Ikea. Shopping centre. DIY store. Aquarium. Swimming pool. Museum.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
A garden centre with a good cafe and a pet shop (fish, in particular) would get my vote with a baby that age. Nice food for you, a stroll around looking at garden stuff and baby gets to watch weird things in water.0
