Is it too late? DRP Letter..

Hi,

My wife received several letters from UKPC which she ignored and recently received a letter from DRC saying she should pay £160 or they'll advise their client to take court action. The reason for the ticket ' vehicle owner/driver left site;. We had both looked at the sign and though it was fine as were shopping for a new sofa and have store receipts, we then just happened to spend 15 mins at another store off site and returned to find the ticket. It's only after we received the ticket we looked at the sign again and in smaller text it warns you not to leave site...Its so annoying as we both genuinely thought we were fine.
I'm happy for them to take us to court but my wife is stressing out! Any advice please?
Many Thanks

    And this:

We assume this was in England/Wales and not Scotland?
were shopping for a new sofa and have store receipts,
What happened when you complained to the Sofa Store Manager and the LANDOWNER/SITE MANAGING AGENT? As anyone would do when a large purchase was being made...do it now.

Faceboook complaints and Twitter are good, as well as in person. RANT about how much this is upsetting your wife and HOW DARE THEY do this to customers?

Threaten to boycott the place; make someone cancel the stupid fake PCN. Get your MP on board too.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    UKPC are fraudsters, read this

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/11858473/Parking-firm-UKPC-admits-faking-tickets-to-fine-drivers.html

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for alleged breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They nearly always lose, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P.

Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned by MPs, as has leaving site, it is probably an unfair term in a consumer contract, and they would find it extremely difficult to convince a judge that such an action was a breach of contract, ys

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind most of these companies may well be put out of business by Christmas.
