    No idea, but I have some mature oaks and I rarely get their seedlings directly under them.

    Not many squirrels either, thanks to a neighbour who traps them, and the magpies. I know for a fact that they used to shoot the squirrels in the Botanical Gardens (at around 5am) but there were always plenty there!
