Hi there everyone, i think imay have decided on a potential dissertation topic! Exploring the physiological changes of the human body after death. I know a bit grim however its an intresting topic dont you think. I would appreciate some feeback about the chosen area and any further suggestions.

Try speaking to your local Med School, undertaker, mortuary as they maybe able to help.
As far as I know the skin goes waxy, the body bloats and eventually liquifies - it all seems rather icky and the thought has put me off my supper.
Good luck anyway and apologies to all those folks who now have a horrid idea of what goes on.0 -
It is interesting but it sounds to me like it could easily become just a collection of, or a re-working of other articles/journals in that it might be hard to produce something with a lot, if any, originality. I might be wrong though, and you're more likely to know as my degree subject has nothing to do with this are.Bought, not Brought0

Try watching the Peter Greenaway film A Zed And Two Noughts.0

I think that could be interesting - does your dissertation have to be purely on the A&P side, if you have to have a pschyological side you could also add on either beliefs of what happens after death (ie different cultural beliefs) or how those left behind cope.
Add in a chapter on stillbirths and macerations (ohh, that could have been good for mine - but I'm 7,000 words in I'm not changing it now)0 -
I think it's a dead good idea
Seriously though, how about weaving together the physiological and psychological. What I would like to know is when does the mind die, i.e. all thought and conciousness that physically exists. I know that may sound a bit far out there but it's similar to the argument of whether people think or feel during comas...
Cor blimey it's a bit deep for a monday morning. Think i'll go and put the kettle on! :coffee:0
