The ccj will show you the total awarded to the claimant.

You pay the claimant direct. But must do so within a month of the date of the ccj.

If you think this is already a month old and you want a clean credit record then you will have to try for a set aside. (See newbies FAQ for advice on set aside)

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.

No it isn't. You agree to the charge when you read the sign and continue to use the parking. Don't want to pay then keep within the boundaries of the contract you agreed to or go find somewhere else.

AKA the Claimant needs to ask the Court for the judgment to get it.

In theory, (a hypothesis as I don't know the exact position regarding the judgment) but if you pay this before they request judgment - which they are now absolutely entitled to - then you buy your way out of this without ever receiving a judgment. Obviously copy in the Court to your letter, so that they know the debt is discharged.

Tarambor is incorrect, the private parking industry is unregulated, there is no statutory body monitoring it, the two main trade associations, the IPC and BPAltd are private members trade clubs that exist for the sole benefit of the industry and make up their own rules ( grandiosely called code of practises )they also control their own appeals service(s) for example the links between Will Hurley, John Llewellyn Gladstone, Gladstones Solicitors and the IPC/IAS are well known, as is the fact that the BPAltd fund POPLA and scrapped the (slightly more) independent scrutiny board that was supposed to provide checks and balances on the anitcs of POPLA

As for the Question to Leepox, if you can provide inormation as to why you got a ticket in the first place, name of the PPC, and car park then it may be of use to others.
Plus if its a residential /non display of permit where you had permission to park ( either through existing rights, or its an own space) then there may be room for manoeuvre in order to take actions and get your money back.
Also some supermarkets/other car parks could also yield results for the OP.
