PIP - Awaiting decision. Report arrived

I had a text from the DWP 2 weeks ago almost, that they'd received all my information and were making a decision. I rung and requested a copy of my medical assessment which I received yesterday.

I went online and looked looked at the answers she put in for each question and the points they were worth. I scored 18 for daily living and 22 for mobility. She recommended my award was assessed again in 3 years time.

I was highly emotional reading the report, it even triggered high anxiety and lots of tears.. It's really hard reading all your health conditions, and how they've impacted your life at only 38.

I applied in July last year so this has been such a long process. Does anyone know, can the DWP decision maker go against this medical assessment or is this quite good news? I am a bag of nerves and having a lot of anxiety awaiting the final decision.

Thank you
Lib

It's very rare for them to go against that report, but it can happen. With all those points you scored i think you can relax and say you've got Enhanced in both parts. Nothing is final until a decision has been made though. If you're not transferring from DLA then your money will be backdated to the date you first rang to make your claim.

    Thank you Poppy

That is reassuring, hopefully it will be good news.

No, I wasn't on any benefits prior to applying. I have been ill for almost 3 years but decided against applying as the stress of it put me off. Now I know why as this has been such a long drawn out process and I will be glad when it's over.

    Thank you again.
