Foreign object in food, best way to proceed?

Hi forum,
I hope that this is the correct area for my question.
I recently bought 2 packs of orange & cranberry hot x buns from my local Aldi.
I toasted the last one from one of the packs this morning.
Whilst chewing the last bite of the last one (sod's law being what it is!) I tried to chew what I initially thought was a well cooked/toasted cranberry but I could not bite into it.
Upon extracting the 'cranberry' it turned out to be a flat circular plastic item about the size of a pea although oval in shape not round.
I tried to cut the item in half but was unable to do so proving that it is not organic but indeed plastic.
Ignoring the obvious fact that a child could have swallowed the item I am 80% blind and could easily have made the same mistake.
How do members feel that I should proceed with any complaint to Aldi?
Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks in advance,
lakesman

    Hi there

I recently found a small screw in a tin of Heinz tomato soup. I had put the soup in the microwave covered by a plate so there was no way it had come from my microwave .

As I was eating the soup I found the screw in my mouth. I returned the tin(empty ) and screw to Tescos . They gave me a replacement set of 4 cans immediately and took the details , then passed the matter on to Heinz.

Heinz 'investigated ' and came to the conclusion that they couldn 't explain it . They gave me coupons for £10 for Heinz products .

    Matter closed .
Without the rain you wouldn't have the rainbows !

I came into this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left!

If you complain, they may make a 'goodwill gesture'. (You haven't really suffered any loss, so you don't have a basis for claiming any compensation/damages.)

If they take your complaint seriously, I guess they'd want the piece of plastic back, so that the bakery can try to work out where it came from (e.g. bits breaking off a bit of machinery), so that they can fix the problem.

But equally, they may be suspicious of your complaint - especially if they get a lot of 'fake' complaints.

Based on the size you say, it would have passed through the body in 24 hours with no Ill effects.

I found a plastic part in a tin of chopped tomatoes a year or so ago.

Initially I was given a replacement tin and apology, but after whinging further via email I got a £10 voucher.

(I had used the tinned tomatoes to make a kids hidden veg sauce, and only discovered the plastic lump upon blending, so had to chuck the whole batch I'd spent ages cooking away. Was not amused!)
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
