Ppi query

Basically i tried to claim ppi myself to my old bank last year...they replied i wasnt due anything so i left it for a couple of months then decided to try a claims company...nothing lost nothing gained.....bank have now upheld my claim and im due £13000 back in total with claim company due 35%.....this has left me kind of !!!!ed as how can i go from nothing to 13 grand....anyone any advice or do i just need to pay claims company

    The claims company have clearly done their job for you.

    You will have to pay them. Be happy you still have £8,450 for yourself - money you didn't have!

    If you disagreed with the original bank decision then you had the right to use the free of charge ombudsman service. At no point did you need to employ a CMC.

    Plus, a number of banks have been automatically reviewing old complaints are have scheduled to review old complaints (i.e. they are going to do it automatically but not done it yet). When the CMC put their attempt in, if you had not been on the review list, it would have been rejected as already complained and responded to previously. if you are on the list for a recheck, they bring your review forward.

    CMCs know this. Which is why they are quite happy to encourage second complaints on rejected cases as they get their name added to the case despite it having nothing to do with the CMC. In this case, the CMC has earned £5k for a letter. Sooner or later you would have got that £13k if you had done nothing or you had referred it to the FOS originally.

    There is nothing you can do about it. If you employ someone to use the free of charge process then you are liable for that charge.
