UC Journal question.

Okay so, little bit of backstory:
Mother is currently on UC whilst we wait for a reconsideration for her ESA decision, been given a task to create a CV and upload it onto her UC journal.

She doesn't like talking to strangers so instead of getting aid from a job centre employee its my job to do this for her. Only thing is...I can't for the life of me work out where I'm supposed to upload her CV onto the UC account? I don't know if I'm missing something but I can't find anything fitting.

Right now my best idea is to upload it to my google drive and add the link to it as a work search note, but if anyone knows any easier ideas I'd much appreciate it.

I figured I'd ask as I don't want to get my mother in trouble or have her benefits cut due to my own mistakes and trying to google an answer didn't bring up anything of help.

(Also an additional question, we've called up to report the reconsideration, and we filled in a form for it and took it to the job centre for the ESA, does that mean we're all good to go in that aspect? I know we only get 30 days from the decision to declare the intent for reconsideration and I am a little worried about if its formally noted down. We were told we'd get a call the same day but didn't get one so I am a little worried about it.)

I can't help with the UC question but as she's now claimed UC she won't be able to go back onto ESA, even if a decision goes in her favour.

Did you put the MR request in writing stating what she disagrees with? Filling out the form only will not be enough. Did she send in more evidence?
  • Dear bear_sock, if mum's UC workcoach hasn't added a link into mum's UC a/c ( in the to-do-list ) to enable the CV to be uploaded then you can't.

Really? That's what we were told to do which really sucks, cause we're in a full rollout area now, what'll happen if the reconsideration goes through?

Yeah she wrote up every point she disagrees with explanations and added in evidence, we're waiting on one more additional evidence from the doctor to sent in as but still sent a fair few new pieces of evidence in.

Yeah there isn't one, thanks for letting me know though! The JC employee we had that initial meeting of seemed to think you could just upload it as is, I thought it was bizarre I couldn't find one. Maybe its cause he's not her formal work coach? This was at that intiial setup meeting you do, the appointment coming up is setting her up with her proper work coach.

I'll just make sure to print it out for her and keep any links so they know the effort was put into fulfilling the task.
  • Bear_sock, sounds like Mum's WC not up to the job. If Mum has a current fit note then claimant commitment should not be requiring mum to be undertaking any job-seeking activity and if if that's the case why the need for a CV ? I suggest you do keep a close watch on mum's UC a/c. All the best.

That's not the case, under full service every claimant will have a commitment even if the only agreement is to inform DWP of any changes. With a fit note claimants are still placed in the all work related group until they have attended a work capability assessment. And as such could be asked to create a c.v

Luckily she's been moved to a different work coach now who has been very understanding of the whole situation and was happy with recieving a paper copy of the CV for the appointment. I'm incredibly thankful we got her matched up with someone else who understands the situation and sets 'goals' that are possible for her, cause the system doesn't allow not setting goals at all. I'm keeping an eye on things though, lest any hiccups appear again, hopefully things'll work out

Thank you for the extra info, I didn't know the bit about the fit note to be honest with you!
