Unexpected credit and debit on the same day

Hi there,

Just a quick question about a strange transaction on my bank statement.

I was checking my bank statement (Current account) today and saw something a little odd last month.

On the same day last month, I had a credit of £95 which I can't remember for the life of me what it would have been for but then on the same day I had a debit of -£70, both the credit and debit have the exact same description and are classed as "CHAPS/International" payments.

I really can't think what this could be but I am supposedly £25 better off?

Has anyone ever had anything like this happen before?

Is it worth ringing my bank about it? (Apologies if this is stupid, I'm young and new to the world of banking!)

Thanks

Aidan

Yes. You should always contact your bank immediately if you don't recognise any transactions on your account.
