Hi,
Can i ask my car insurance to send me all communications they had with third party.
I was told that the incident i was involved though not my fault would be settled 50/50. Now they sent me a letter asking for more than £700 and I know that the other car involved had barely any damage. I want proof of all repairs done to the other party vehicle. I did not make any claim on my car as there was barely a few scratch. So I am sure that someone is trying to rip me off but I don't know if it is my car insurance company or the third party involved.
So can I ask my car insurance company to give me the original invoice they received from the third party?
If they refuse I am planning to take them to court as I know that the amount asked from them is way too much.
Thank you

You can ask them for information via a subject access request and pay for this though. Think it's £10. However if both insurers are party to the RIPE agreement then they won't need to have sent an invoice.
You haven't said what this £700 is for and why they're asking you for it though?
The only money they would ask from you is your excess (which you have to pay 100% of, and claim 50% back from the other insurer yourself). Unless your policy has been voided or the driver of your vehicle was uninsured.
Can't see why your insurer, or the other insurer would want to 'rip you off'. Your insurer will only pay out what they are liable for, think about it why would your insurer pay anymore than they need / have to? Similarly for the other insurer, they wouldn't just pay out for any old random stuff.0
