I am fuming with them, I cant bare to call them as I will almost certainly loose my rag, so instead I will try and stay calm, and avoid conflict.
I am on incapacity benefit of higher rate of around £100 per week
My wife works part time around £100
We have two children 14 and 12.
Last years award (2004/2005) according to Tax office was
Full amount £450.11
Plus recovered from current award £6.21
Amount you owe us £1,105.53
Less amount we have paid for this period 2004/2005 £1561.65
This year 2005/2006
Full amount £3215.65
Amount we have already been paid £51.98
Less amount we owe from previous year £12.95
Amount to be paid £3151.24
I cant understand how they reach this amount, we gave our details accurately and in good faith. I have never wanted to defraud the system, our circusmtances havent chagned each year apart from modest rise in incomes and my wife actually works less hours since Last July due to her employer changing hands from safeway to sainsburys.
I have noticed over recent weeks though that we have been getting two payments into our bank account, adn we have no idea why we get this, but this is recent.

We had two payments this week and when I phoned them they said there would always be an adjustment at the end of the year when our new salary figures were submitted. Don't quite understand but they said the money is ours to keep anyway I seem to remember this happening last year as well. If you phone they are usually really helpful (provided the computer hasn't crashed of course!)0

I rang them up tpday, manage to stay clam, I know it aint staffs fault. They told me there two payments I received thsi week and subsequent weeks is one, WFTC, and the other CTC. I have set the wheels in motion to appeal.
I cant quite understand how this is working
Cheers for the help.
