Who can I claim for compensation because the boy who sold me them swore they would work.

...For some reason people seem to be confusing banks with a charity, the government, or their parents. They are not there to hold your hand, or get the best for you, any more than is your local Indian takeaway, show shop, or car dealership. If they talk you into buying something expensive that is not ground for a refund.
Unless, you are elderly (and therefore the bank thinks you are [STRIKE]vulnerable enough[/STRIKE] gullible enough, that it thinks you are not handling your finances properly, it will not only hold your hand..it will play guardian angel:A. Have a look at this:

Look!, it depends how the OP was sold this package account. Was it sold in person (at a branch or door-to-door) or over the phone. What were the reasons given by the staff. Did they tell him/her it was essential (clearly it wasn't). Did they tell him/her about the activation? Was he coerced in to buying the product? We don't know, so everyone here is merely speculating that he was given full and frank facts about the product.
My only concern is that he/she has waited this long to raise it. However, banks are notorious for selling your products that aren't particularly necessary and sticking to it. Perhaps he visited/phoned the branch in between and was given a sales pitch that he needs this product without doubt. It wouldn't be a first.
I don't think we need to appeal to god or indeed wait for the second coming. OP clearly didn't want/need the cake (substitute bread/fish instead of cake if you're so inclined). Yet the bank has found a way to deliver it, then charge him every month for not eating it.0 -

As I've already said, nothing the OP has written shows mis-selling. Their complaint appears to revolve around the fact that they didn't use any of the insurance products (except one claim for a mobile phone which was not covered under the terms of the policy) and that therefore they think they should have the fee reimbursed. This is clearly ludicrous.
The OP has had plenty of opportunity to explain what other grounds they have for claiming mis-selling, but they have been conspicuous in their failure to do so. I even invited them to elucidate any other grounds, but they didn't, having previously been very vociferous about the supposed injustice of paying for insurance that they had not claimed on (successfully). Based on the information presented to us, therefore, it is entirely reasonable to conclude that they have no case. The FOS thought so too.

One employee of 18 months said: ‘even now I look at an investment case and I don’t know what to ask for. Sometimes I’ve not even heard of the products. I have to Google what it is first.’0

These bank accounts include insurance policies, but some people opening these accounts do not know what they are and may not need the policies, he said.

OceanSound, you have dredged a thread up from a month ago to make some completely spurious points that don't rebut what I said. What was the point?
Let it go, and move on.0
