Strange water marks on the walls

Hi,
Long time lurker but first time poster
I got a bit of an odd issue going on in my kitchen walls. The house was bought by myself in Dec 2015 but is dated back to 1970.
The walls were recently filled and painted and during this winter some strange water marks started to appear on the walls.
There are not the typical mould marks, it is more like water drops..
Any ideas on what it is and how to solve it?
Many thanks in advance

That's strange as usually it's just molds. But could be a leaking problem somewhere..0

It would be good if you could upload an image however, it could just be steam/condensation from boiling veg on the hob.0

Definitely condensation from boiling pans/pots.
Make sure there's always a window open when cooking.
Those marks should wipe away with a cloth or one of those magic erasers.0 -
Lack of air especially if its on a cold outside wall
Try putting some air vents in it worked for us0 -
Many thanks to everyone for the replies so far. I am going to get a set of Magic erasers and see if I can clear the damaged, if not, another coat of paint, put an air vent and open the windows when cooking!0

Before you give the wall another coat of emulsion it would be a good idea to paint over the stains with either stainblock or an oil based undercoat or primer. This will seal the stain and prevent it leaching through the new emulsion coat.0

I recently used Zinser Bin to cover some wallpaper that was stained due to water damage. However, make sure you cure the source of the damage first.0
