Witness statement & press release

Maybe amusing.
So through the post, just received a letter from civil enforcement, with a 'prepared to accept £175 now' offer letter, together with a witness statement from one of their attendants saying they have footage of my car arriving and leaving (etc), together with press release information of past cases like Beavis, Cavendish, etc, saying how it's all disputable etc
(Background: incident from December 2016, after months of letters, they escalated to court end of 2017, done all the on-line stuff, filed my statement with the court Jan/feb, etc, just waiting to here back with a date)
Desperate or what. Clearly shows they're going to lose or get thrown out, I assume

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for alleged breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They nearly always lose, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P.
Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind most of these companies may well be put out of business by Christmas. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

I'm sure they will accept a lower amount which is an idicator
they are unsure of their claim.
What "footage" might they be referring to, if it was
ANPR, it's one picture in and one picture out
Doubt if it's CCTV so does this attendent run around like
a headless chicken taking movies, doubt that as well.
You need to ask for proof of this "footage", they must
provide you with proof
Forget all the Beavis stuff, nothing to do you and in typical
CEL fashion, they are trying to scare you.
No doubt as usual, CEL will play the game right up to
the last and discontinue

If it pleases them, play their silly game0 -
Yes, anpr camera.
What is wonderful about this desperate letter after court papers submitted, is that it is virtually an admission of defeat by them.
I'm going to sit back. Feet up.0
