Your energy sussex
I just had a leaflet through with my council tax bill suggesting I change to energy providers Your Energy Sussex. It is a council ( West and East Sussex) supported supplier and the company doesn't make money for shareholders or directors bonuses. Does anyone know anything about it? Now that my bills will go up because EON is getting rid of some discounts, I would like to try someone else

I would run a full market comparison and then check what your local energy company has to offer. Note fine words about directors and shareholders etc does not necessarily mean lower prices. I would check to see whether local Councils have funded a start up loan that will have to be re-paid: For example:
Quote: Bristol City Council!!!8217;s energy company is running at a £8.4million loss despite having an eye-watering £17.3million worth of taxpayers money sunk in to it.
Officially launched in 2015, Bristol Energy provides gas and electricity to almost 65,000 customers including 13,000 in Bristol. Unquote Bristol Post
The Bristol Post has gone to suggest that Bristol Council has rejected the supplier!!!8217;s business plan as there are concerns about projected customer numbers.
Additional Information:
Your Energy Sussex is a partnership between Sussex councils and Robin Hood Energy, the licensed energy company owned and operated by Nottingham City Council.
I would look at the Robin Hood Energy feedback forum as RHE will Bill and provide customer services etc. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
